I learnt to ring in 1985 at Holy Trinity, Hull, on one side I was lucky to learn here as lots of work was always being carried out on the bells so I had a good grounding in the mechanics of bells, however there wasn't really any strong tradition of ringing at Trinity. If I'd stayed there alone then I would probably have been a much less accomplished ringer than I am now.
When I began ringing though I didn't really keep a record of the towers that I have visited, which now I am disappointed by as my wife (whom I taught) can tell me every tower she's rung at and when, usually with a picture!
